The different subtitle settings in Kodi seem only to affect external subs (.srt files) but not embedded subtitles in video files (yes, the subs of my mkv files are NOT rendered into the video). But you can't see them in "normal" / zoomed mode. You can see the subs in the "original" size, since this was an old DVD with 720x576. tried to change the size of the video (while playing) in the OSD.Calibrate the video output in settings > system and moved the subtitles as much up as possible - totaly no effect.Change the subtitles position from "fixed" (default setting) into any other position available - no effect Enable the subtitle addon by going to Settings > Player > Language and selecting the addon as the default subtitle service.

I tried some things in the Kodi settings (expert mode) So if I play them in fullscreen (via HDMI on TV) I'm not able to see them. In Kodi the subtitles are displayed beneath the videos. Daily uploaded thousands of translated subtitles.

I implemented several audio tracks and at least two subtitles (english and german). Download subtitles for movies and TV Series, search in many languages from a multi-language website. I have a stupid problem, maybe someone can help me. For discussion of those add-ons, feel free to visit /r/Addons4Kodi. Any such links or discussion will be removed. This subreddit does not support discussion or links pertaining to gray area or illegal add-ons (such as genesis or icefilms) for Kodi made by 3rd party developers.

Exactly, amazing.Kodi is an award-winning free and open source cross-platform software media player and entertainment hub for HTPCs. These subtitles in the Kodi video player that we usually use in the content that we play from here, are made up of text that we have to read and follow. The unsurprising result: subtitles in the image – which do not have to look like this, however, because Kodi offers (in the menu of step 1) options to set position, size, color and font individually.

The manual selection if you don't enable the Kodi auto-download option. If you have not activated the automatic download under point 1, when playing a video a dialog for selecting the subtitles found will pop up immediately - in the picture you can also see the different providers that were selected under step 1. Great: No unnecessary settings, straight to the point. You can also set exclusions for directories, live TV and titles below a certain duration. Opens the installed add-on, which can be found in the "Services" add-on category, and activates the desired language for the subtitles.

Go to the system settings, there to the add-ons and install the AutoSubs extension - you can find it via the search function or via the service add-ons. Subtitles as a general standard are defined via the properties of an individual video - solved rather ugly. Enter your credentials in OpenSubtitles KODI add-on. Now start a video and open the audio and subtitle settings from the player bar, enable the subtitles and set this setting as standard/default for all videos.

You can also select this in this menu, for example has established itself here for series You can also choose several. You will not be bothered with a selection dialog, but will automatically get the first hit of the search query later - this works perfectly with a well-chosen subtitle provider. Enable subtitlesįirst go to the subtitle settings of Kodi and activate the item “Auto download first subtitle”. If you are looking for Kodi subtitles, OpenSubtitles will always be my first recommendation. This service has subtitles in a wide range of languages and for nearly all the movies and TV shows that have been released so far.

5 steps later you will be provided with subtitles: OpenSubtitles is probably the best subtitles service for Kodi. Kodi itself offers a corresponding function by default, but it doesn't (always) work as expected - the AutoSubs add-on is still needed. Do you prefer to watch series and films in the original? Then you may be interested in German or English subtitles - and of course they can not only be displayed in Kodi, but also automatically downloaded in the desired languages.
